Born With a Silver Spoon...

We want all babies born at BroMenn to have all the advantages. However, advantages at BroMenn are about health, not wealth. So we provide "Silver Spoon" services you won't find at just any hospital. Silver Spoons are the extra spoonfuls of care that help ensure your baby's birth is a special event. We hope they also add a silver lining to the beginning of what will be a safe, happy and healthy life. Here are a few:

Mother/Baby Nursing

We assign one nurse to help you and your baby. This mother-baby method of nursing care gives you and your baby more time together and helps you both become better acquainted.

Lactation Center

BroMenn is the only hospital in Bloomington/Normal with a Lactation Center. Our certified Lactation Consultants are here to help new moms feel more positive and self-confident about breast-feeding.

Labor Hydrotherapy Pool

This specially designed labor pool uses the soothing effects of warm water to relieve pain and relax cramped and tired muscles.

Safety and Security

BroMenn's nursery is a designated Level II Nursery. This level of designation requires the nursery to offer nurses who are specially trained and the medical equipment necessary to care for infants who need closer medical attention. A variety of security systems also provides additional safeguards for babies and mothers.

In addition to receiving a copy of your baby's footprints, BroMenn also supplies a free DNA sample of your baby's blood for the most advanced form of ID.

Car Seat Program

Because BroMenn wants every baby to have a safe ride home, we provide infant/carrier safety seats at a reduced price. Stick Up for Safety stickers are also available to place on your car seat for identification purposes.

Boarding Rooms for Moms

Sometimes a mother is ready to leave the hospital but her baby needs additional care. Under these circumstances, mothers may participate in our boarder program. We provide a room and meals, for as long as their babies are patients of the hospital.

Hearing Assessment

Speech and language development begin at birth, and so can treatment of hearing deficiencies. All babies born at BroMenn have their hearing tested while they are still in the hospital.

Valet Parking

As an added convenience, BroMenn offers free Valet Parking Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
