BroMenn Healthcare Patient Rights

As a patient at BroMenn Healthcare, you are entitled to a number of rights.

Each patient we serve has the right to:

  1. Reasonable access to care.
  2. Considerate care that respects the patient's personal values and beliefs. 
  3. Informed participation in decisions regarding medical care, including the right to accept or refuse medical or surgical treatment. 
  4. Participate in the review of ethical issues that arise in the provision of medical care. 
  5. Receive care in a safe setting free from all forms of abuse or harassment.
  6. Personal privacy, security, and confidentiality of information, including the right to review your medical records within a reasonable time frame. 
  7. Formulate advance directives or designate a representative decision-maker in the event you cannot make healthcare decisions or are unable to communicate your wishes regarding care. 
  8. Protective services, that include determining the need for investigation or intervention regarding hazardous living conditions or situations of neglect or abuse. 
  9. Have a family member or representative of your choice and your physician notified of your admission to the hospital. 
  10. Be free from physical constraints and drugs that are used as a restraint if not medically necessary. 
  11. Express your grievances in a formal manner and to be informed of the grievance process. 
  12. Appropriate assessment and management of pain.

Confidential Concerns

If you have a concern regarding service or care that cannot be resolved by hospital staff, you may:

  • Request to see a supervisor or
  • Access a patient advocate at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, (309) 268-5053, or at Eureka Community Hospital, (309) 467-2371, ext.4006.
