Explaining the Billing Process
The Patient Hospital Bill
As a routine practice, the hospital attempts to collect all known patient expenses prior to the delivery of services (when appropriate) or while the patient is in the hospital. This includes deductibles, co-pays and co-insurance amounts.
Because treatment plans may change during your stay, it is difficult to know your final total charges at the time of admission or discharge from the hospital. It is possible that charges may be added to your account after discharge.
A Few Words About Doctor Bills
BroMenn Healthcare bills do not include fees for most physician or surgeon services. If your treatment includes the services of a radiologist, pathologist, anesthesiologist, or other physician specialist, you will receive a separate bill from these physicians.
If you received services in BroMenn's Emergency Department, you will also receive a separate bill for the physician services in this area. If you have questions regarding any of your physician bills, please call the telephone number printed on the physician's bill.
