New Physician Joins Sugar Creek Medical Associates

October 5, 2007 - James S. Vales, M.D., of Normal, a family practice physician, has joined the medical staff at Sugar Creek Medical Associates, 1302 Franklin Avenue, Suite 1100, Normal, IL.

Dr. Vales comes to Sugar Creek with more than 17 years of experience in family medicine, both in private practice with the OSF Medical Group in Bloomington, and as Lead Physician of Urgent Care/Family Medicine at OSF PromptCare, also in Bloomington. He has also served as an emergency room physician at Abraham Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln, IL, Mason District Hospital in Havana, IL and at Baptist Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.

He received his medical degree from the University of Missouri's Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his family practice residency at Baptist Medical Center's Goppert Family Care Center. Prior to this, he was a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.

Dr. Vales is Board Certified in Family Practice from the American Board of Family Practice, and in Urgent Care Medicine from the American Board of Urgent Care Medicine. He is a member of the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Practice.
