BroMenn Names Patient Services VP & Chief Nurse Executive
September 13, 2007 - Linda S. Johnson, RN, BSN, MBA, CNA, BC, of Chenoa, IL, has been named Chief Nurse Executive and Vice President of Patient Services for Bloomington-Normal based BroMenn Healthcare.
Johnson was selected for the position over several other candidates obtained from a national search. She has been serving in this role on an interim basis since the retirement of Patricia Thornton earlier this year.
In this position, Johnson will serve as a member of the BroMenn Executive Team and will monitor all aspects of BroMenn’s Patient Services units and nursing operations. She brings with her nearly 35 years of BroMenn experience, beginning here career in 1972 at Mennonite Hospital as an operating room staff nurse. After several years there and later as a Home Health nurse, she rose to leadership roles at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, first as a House Supervisor and then, in 1994, as Director of Emergency Trauma Services, Emergency Medical Services and Nursing Operations. Last year, she was also named interim Director of Critical Care Services.
Johnson earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mennonite College of Nursing in Bloomington, graduating Magna cum Laude. She holds an MBA from California Coast University in Santa Ana, CA, and is a Certified Nurse Administrator. She has been recognized at BroMenn with Nursing Excellence Awards in both Mentoring and Leadership.
She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives, the Illinois Organization of Nurse Leaders, the McLean County EMS Board of Directors, and the Emergency Nurses Association.
