BroMenn Names Emergency, Critical Care Director

Marla A. Slock, MSN, RN, BC, of Peoria, was recently named Director of Emergency/Trauma Services and Critical Care at BroMenn Regional Medical Center in Normal.

Slock comes to BroMenn after nearly five years as an Education Specialist and Training Center Coordinator at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.  There she oversaw the hospital's basic, advanced and pediatric life support courses, including the supervision of 225 American Heart Association instructors, three training coordinators and four training sites.  She also coordinated the organization's Rapid Response Team, Simulation training and developed and facilitated hospital and community education workshops.

Slock has more than 30 years of nursing and nursing education experience.  Prior to her position at OSF St. Francis, she was an Education Coordinator at BroMenn and at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.

Slock has a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a Master's degree in Nursing Administration, both from Bradley University in Peoria, and is Board Certified in Professional Staff Development from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.  She is an American Heart Association Regional Faculty for Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Her responsibilities at BroMenn focus on providing operational direction, leadership and guidance to those in the Emergency/Trauma, Intensive Care and telemetry/step-down units.  Slock has responsibility for the successful clinical, operational, and financial performance of these areas, as well as patient satisfaction.
