BroMenn Hospitals, Physicians Win Patient Satisfaction Awards

June 7, 2007 - Several BroMenn Healthcare System department/providers have been recognized for their excellence in patient satisfaction. Professional Research Consultants, Inc. (PRC), a national administrator of patient satisfaction studies, has announced their National Excellence in Healthcare Awards for studies conducted in 2006.

BroMenn Regional Medical Center ’s Neuro Specialty Unit and Eureka Community Hospital ’s Medical/Surgical Inpatient Unit each received 5-Star Awards for Patient Perception of Overall Quality of Care. The 5-Star designation is given annually for scoring in the top ten percent of PRC’s national client database for the prior calendar year. It is based on the percentage of patients who rated the facility, provider or unit as “excellent” in Overall Quality of Care.

BroMenn Home Health and Eureka Community Hospital ’s Emergency Department were recognized with 4-Star Awards for Patient Perception of Overall Quality of Care. A 4-Star designation is given annually to those that score in the top twenty-five percent of PRC’s national client database for the prior calendar year. It, too, is based on the percentage of patients who rated the facility or provider as “excellent” in Overall Quality of Care.

On the physician side, Dr. Kimberly Marshall of Sugar Creek Medical Associates in Normal, Dr. Samuel Steffen of Crossroads Medical Associates - Lexington, and Dr. Larry Sapetti, formerly of Crossroads Medical Associates – El Paso, received a 5-star award for Patient Perception of Healthcare Provider Overall Quality of Care. Also recognized with a 5-star award was the practice of Crossroads Medical Associates - El Paso.

Dr. Steven Ingalsbe of Crossroads; El Paso, Dr. Steven Jones of Town & Country Healthcare in Eureka and Dr. Brenda Kube of LeRoy Family Medicine all received 4-Star awards.

Additionally, PRC honors facilities that score at the 100th percentile on select aspects of care. This year, the Aspect of Care Top Performer Award for Safety in the Hospital goes to the BroMenn Regional Medical Center Emergency Department.
