BroMenn Extends Parish Nursing Support To Coordination/Education

May 1, 2007 - BroMenn Healthcare has entered into a partnership with the Community Parish Nurse Program to continue to provide referral and educational resources for Parish Nurses in the Bloomington-Normal area.

Parish nursing is an independent practice of professional nursing that promotes health and healing practices from a faith perspective to achieve desired goals. The BroMenn Regional Parish Nurse Support Program will assume responsibility for Parish Nurse Coordination by providing education and support for area nurses.

Current Parish Nurse activities will continue, such as the second annual Parish Nurse/Clergy Appreciation Breakfast to be held May 5, beginning 9:00 a.m. at Resurrection Lutheran Church. BroMenn’s support of the growing parish nursing community will further extend through co-sponsorship with Carle Foundation of a Parish Nurse Basic Preparatory Course in fall 2007.

For additional information, or needs, area nurses are encouraged to contact Jo Samara, Volunteer Parish Nurse Coordinator, or Cheree Johnson, Director of Church Relations, at 309-268-3506 or via e-mail at parishnurse@bromenn.org.
